Ewelina Toruńczak-Pawłowicz

CEO&Founder, educationalist and language trainer

I gained teaching experience in private language schools and at the University of Warsaw, where I learned that an innovative and practical attitude to foreign language teaching is indispensable nowadays. This is especially true about teaching German as a second foreign language – particularly now, when a knowledge of English is not a feat anymore.

Lektorzy języka niemieckiego – Paulina Gabrel

Paulina Gabrel

Educationist, translator and language trainer

My German adventure started with music – because German music is not only Beethoven or Mozart but also Rammstein or Nina Hagen. What I felt captivated by was the unconventionality of way the German language sounds. Many people perceive it as hard and guttural, but it does not have to be true. There are many dialects, each of them is different and unique – not necessarily harsh!

I believe that every language, just like every human, has a unique nature. I was first acquainted with German very early – when I was seven years old. Since the beginning I have found this language to be very interesting and appealing. German grammar, rules and exceptions as well as order present in this language reflect my character. That is the reason why we – me and the German language – fit together perfectly!

German language trainers – who to choose?

A German language trainer’s main task is to equip you with a comprehensive knowledge of German and ensure that you can apply it in practice – confidently, boldly and effectively. In addition to being a “conventional” teacher, your trainer must also be a source of motivation and support – without these even the most engaged client can just… burn out. Obviously, crises have been and will be present in the learning process they are its natural part. It is up to a qualified German language trainer to keep their number down – and that the client will come out of such a crisis with new experiences and even more motivation for further development.

It’s also worth paying attention to a German language trainer’s education and experience. The universities the teacher graduated from as well as completed professional courses may be a proof of knowledge and proficiency in the German language. Studying at a university in one of the German speaking countries, taking part in student exchange programmes as well as labour market experience in Germany, Austria or Switzerland are additional advantages. A good trainer must be natural and spontaneous while using the language he teaches. If you want to experience practical things during the learning process – choose an experienced person!

German language is not enough

Successful cooperation is usually possible only if both parties like spending time together and understand each other. This is especially important in case of personal development as a student’s mental contentment has a direct impact on subsequent effects of the learning process. That is why choosing a right German language trainer matching the customer’s character is so crucial in order to create a tightly-knit team. This way each lesson becomes a valuable experience and pleasure.

There is still a prevailing conviction that knowledge and teaching methods are the only factors that matter while choosing a teacher. We agree that a German language trainer’s proficiency and ability to transfer knowledge effectively are of great importance, but German alone is not enough – after all, we are humans, not books. We strongly encourage our clients to pay attention to their frame of mind during classes with a specific German language trainer. If you feel you are not on the same wavelength – that’s ok, it happens. In such a situation take care of your comfort and don’t hesitate to ask for a change.
